Hairstyles come and go, they evolve and morph over time, but what about beard styles? Beard styles, much like hairstyles come and go but much less frequently than what we do with the hair on top of our heads. In addition, beard styles are a lot more personal and often aggressive (statement wise) than our head hair. In this article, we’ll go through a few of our favorite beard styles for 2020.

1 - The Full Beard

Let it grow and maintain as you like, the full beard is the easiest and most common style of beard you’ll see around. Not quite a chest tickling beard and definitely not stubble, the full beard lets the world know that you’ve got the genetics to do whatever you want, whenever you want, with your beard.

2 - Stubble

You just got home from a long day at the office and your early morning shave has faded into a strong 5 o’clock shadow. The stubble look gives off a clean-cut vibe if it’s well maintained and can often be seen at finance offices and law firms between the hours of 3:00 and 5:00 PM.

3 - Power Stache

Shave everything, but leave the mustache alone. The power stache is typically seen gracing the upper lip of your grandpa and the fun uncle in the family. It gives off a certain fun, energetic vibe and more often than not the personality to back it up.

4 - Full Beard + Handlebar

If you’re a lucky enough boss to have the mustache genetics to back up a killer beard then the full beard + handlebar could be right up your alley. You’ll be walking around looking like you’re ready for a beard competition or looking for the nearest saloon.

5 - Long & Strong

You want to display your beard dominance over the rest of the bearded community. No matter how much jelly beard oil you run through, you’ll keep that beard growing. This one’s simple… keep growing and let your genetics do the rest. Moving on.

6 - Handlebar

Arguably more aggressive than the full beard + handlebar, this style will turn heads and catch eyes when you’re out and about. If you’ve got the genetics to grow a handlebar, the patience to use our MUDstache training wax to get it styled right, and the confidence to match your handlebar… go for it, Boss.

7 - Lined Up

Similar to the high fade hairstyle that has swept across the globe, the lined up beard gives you a clean, professional look that will convey your clean and professional lifestyle to those around you. This style requires constant maintenance as you’ll get those 5 o’clock hairs sneaking into the picture as time progresses post-shave, but for a lot of the bosses out there, it’s worth it.

8 - Full & Rounded

A full and rounded beard is similar to the full beard, but with a bit more shape. While you could make this style happen on your own with some attention to detail and a good set of clippers, we’d recommend letting a professional take the wheel.

Whatever style you decide to go with there are a few things to keep in mind. Firstly, beards grow back so choose a style, give it a go, and if you don’t like it start over. Second, having a beard is always better than not having a beard at all so no matter what style you go with… it’s better than having a bald babyface. Lastly, stock up on some bossman beard products because without giving your beard the attention it deserves, no style will look as good.
